Mia's First BYU Atheltic Event

BYU Men's Volleyball played Stanford this past weekend at Stanford which is only 40 minutes from us, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to wear our BYU Blue and cheer on our Cougs! BYU is ranked #6 and Stanford #5 so we were geared up for a great game. BYU won Friday night and then we went to Saturday's game which unfortunately BYU didn't do very well in. But even though we lost, there's something about going to a BYU event and uniting with fellow Cougar fans.

Mia spent most of the game on John's shoulder like this because the "loud scary guy" (the announcer) was a bit too much for her. She eventually warmed up and was able to yell "Go BYU" and dance to the music during timeouts.

An Early Inheritance

With my parents leaving for Germany in just a couple months...we are starting to accumulate things that we are going to "babysit" for them while they are gone. Behold the latest acquisition... yes a trampoline that takes up our ENTIRE backyard. Haha. It takes up allll our grass, but I justify it because we never laid on the grass to look at the clouds but now we lay on the tramp all the time. And at least we still have a little corner for a garden :)

Also we have an orange tree that is overflowing with yummy oranges... and you better believe that we have run out of things to do with all of them. So if any of you locals want to come pick your own oranges and take home a couple bags full...PLEASE DO!!!

What a difference a week makes....

It's absolutely amazing how for 3 months I felt nauseous all the time, had to eat constantly even though nothing sounded appetizing, had zero energy, and was in the bathroom with head over the toilet regularly... and then one day just wake up and have the nausea gone, I can go 2 hours without eating, my energy has returned and no more throwing up! Oh happy day!! It's soooo wonderful when the long awaited 2nd trimester arrives!

Also, some of you have been asking if John still has a job... so I thought I'd mention that as well. Yup...last week Orrick laid off 20% of their attorneys firmwide... 3 of the 12 in John's corporate group in SF... but thankfully we were not on the list this time around. John is now the only first year in corporate at SF and although he still has a job, his workload has increased which is a bummer. But you definitely won't hear any more complaining from me about John working long hours... at least he is working (although I still reserve the right to complain when he works past midnight several days in a row).

And just an FYI: The Time article on CA Mormons has been pushed back until April or May because the reporter now wants to attend General Conference and include that in the article. I'll post once it comes out since some of you expressed interest in it.
