Not quite a Winter Wonderland...

A bit back I had heard an ad on the radio about a place not too far away that had some sledding runs made out of artificial snow. They also said they had a kids snow play area. So we decided to go check it out since Mia hadn't really experienced snow much... and snow is hard to come by in the Bay Area within a decent drive from us. So we took a chance a couple weeks ago ....unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype. Below is the kids play area... and yes only that tiny mound in the middle is snow... the rest is white carpet...

We slid down the tiny mound while ice pellets were shot at us from the snow maker...

Then we gave up on the snow and went sledding down the white carpet...

You don't go too fast on carpet...

Yes.... carpet!!

It wasn't quite all that I'd hoped it would be... but it certainly was memorable. Good thing we got to go to Utah last weekend so Mia could play in REAL snow :)

Carpet, That is hilarious!! Who would ever even think of sledding on carpet...I guess those that don't ever get snow. :) Glad you were able to visit Utah and real winter. :)

There was snow in Utah when you came!?! We got a little today. Haven't been seeing too much lately. Which is really okay by me, but the girls miss wearing their snow boots.

That cracks me up that they would use carpet!! Just today we drove by our snow-less hills and Kaia said we could just go sledding on them without snow. Here is proof that it doesn't work very well! :) We missed all the snow here so far when we were out of town for Christmas. Not that I'm complaining, but my kids would like to go sledding at some point.

That is soooo funny! I've never heard of such a thing. Glad to see you made the best of it.
