John turned 29 this past week! We sure love birthdays at our house... Mia helped pick out presents, wrap them, hide them and then helped John find them (in our house the birthday boy/girl has to earn their presents by finding them whereas for Mother's Day or Father's Day presents aren't hidden because they have been earned all year...something we did in my house growing up that has carried over). We enjoyed yummy homemade chocolate lava cakes to celebrate (click here for the recipe- they were super easy and really yummy... really rich and not good for you in the least... but fun for a rare celebration : )
You'll notice in the pic above holding Norah is John's sister Julia. She is living with us for the next several months. It's fun to have aunt Julia around! We'll be sad when she finds a job and can't just play with us during the day :)

Wow...29...so young. ;) Hope John had a great day. I like the hiding the gifts idea...maybe we'll have to start doing that. I'm sure that makes it more fun for kids.
Happy Birthday to John! Dang Lisa....those little girls keep getting bigger...I can't wait till I can come play with you all when school lets out. Downhill slope!!
Fun times!
I just have to say that Norah is an absolutely beautiful baby! Happy Birthday John! I wish I was turning 29! :)
Birthday cakes are definitely not supposed to be healthy. :) I'll be hitting 29 this year, too. I'm starting to feel old! How great to have John's sister with you! My mom might be going on a trip to China this summer for teachers; I'm going to try to convince her to send my teenage sister to stay with us. How fun to have the extra help! :)
