From our house the Oakland Zoo is just a 10 minute drive and in recent years they have really made a ton of improvements to it. It's a great little zoo now. Thanks to generous relatives, we used some Christmas funds to get a year membership. Hooray! The weather has been cooperating and we've been enjoying it.

We took some friends with us and everyone liked riding the turtle 
We were glad to have John's stepmom Lurlynn in town to go with us too!
